The High Sheriff of Clwyd, David Jones, recently visited Llangollen Kickboxing Club to see first-hand the positive impact of a successful Crimebeat funding grant.
Accompanied by his two High Sheriff Police Cadets, David Cochrane and Poppy Butcher, David met with coaches and young members of the club, watching the training session and speaking to participants about the difference the new equipment will make.
The Crimebeat grant has enabled the club to purchase new kickboxing pads, providing essential training equipment that will benefit both existing members and newcomers. The investment will help the club to continue to grow, offering more young people the opportunity to take part in a positive, inclusive activity that promotes fitness, confidence, discipline and respect.
During the visit, the High Sheriff praised the club’s commitment to supporting young people and creating a safe, welcoming environment where they can develop new skills, build friendships and reach their potential.
The visit highlighted the important role that community sports clubs play in engaging young people and demonstrated how Crimebeat funding continues to make a real difference to projects that help prevent crime and anti-social behaviour by providing positive opportunities for local communities
