Please also take a look at this website Am Gariad Mon For the Love of Anglesey. This has been inspired by the High Sheriff’s walk for the vulnerable young. Coleg Menai students are posting their stories and photos of the island as Robin walks the Anglesey Coastal Path.  Others are also posting why not join in and send yours!

His purpose is to raise funds and increase publicity in support of Anglesey’s vulnerable young people. He asks for your help.

Our communities face a growing problem. Around 24 per cent of Anglesey’s young people between the ages of 16 and 24, often without training or work experience, are unemployed. They need fresh opportunities, activities and encouragement at a time of mounting economic pressure across Wales.

This affects us all. The island’s harmony and social order are at stake, as well as the needs of the young people themselves.

The funds that The Walk raises will help the county’s voluntary organisations provide more opportunities for work experience, confidence-building activities and other practical initiatives. It’s time for all of us on Anglesey to contribute and share the responsibility. The matter’s too serious to be left to the authorities alone, at a time when their own budgets are shrinking.

With expert advice, the High Sheriff’s charity, Crimebeat, will allocate the funds raised to the local charities and other innovative bodies that really understand the issues through their hands-on experience.

Ei nod yw codi arian a hybu cyhoeddusrwydd i gefnogi pobl ifanc sy’n agored i niwed ar Ynys Môn. Mae’n gofyn am eich help chi.

Mae ein cymunedau’n wynebu problem gynyddol. Mae tua 24 y cant o bobl ifanc Ynys Môn, 16 – 24 oed, yn aml heb hyfforddiant na phrofiad gwaith, yn ddi-waith. Maent angen cyfleoedd a gweithgareddau newydd ac anogaeth mewn cyfnod o bwysau economaidd cynyddol ledled Cymru.

Mae hyn yn effeithio arnom i gyd. Mae cytgord a sefyllfa gymdeithasol yr ynys yn y fantol, yn ogystal ag anghenion y bobl ifanc eu hunain.

Bydd yr arian a godir o’r Daith Gerdded yn helpu mudiadau gwirfoddol y sir i ddarparu mwy o gyfleoedd am brofiad gwaith, gweithgareddau codi hyder a mentrau ymarferol eraill. Mae’n amser i ni i gyd ar Ynys Môn gyfrannu a rhannu’r cyfrifoldeb. Mae’n fater sy’n rhy ddifrifol i’w adael i’r awdurdodau’n unig, ar adeg pan mae eu cyllidebau yn cael eu cwtogi.

Gyda chyngor arbenigol, bydd Crimebeat, elusen yr Uchel Siryf, yn clustnodi’r arian a godir i’r elusennau lleol a chyrff arloesol eraill sydd â’r profiad ymarferol i ddeall yn llawn y materion sydd dan sylw.

Sut gallwch chi helpu:

  • Cyfrannu at y Daith Gerdded ar-lein drwy fynd i www.justgiving.com
    neu
  • Anfon siec, yn daladwy i ‘The Walk’, i The Walk, PO Box 19, Amlwch, Ynys Mon, LL68 8AE
